Also, let me know if you or someone in your family is a writer (poets, song writers, journalists, novelists, anyone?). I’d love to have a parent or two come in and talk about your writing process or share a writing activity.
Thanks to all of you who came out for the World Language trip evening last Thursday. It was an exciting glimpse of these trips for summer 2017. Stay tuned for more information about fundraising.

Rain’s Class Report (with assistant Reporter Liam Brown)
On Monday, we started our main lesson page on Isaac Newton. He is the one who made the three laws of motion. Also today we had quizzes in German and Spanish. At the end of the day we started our first class of wood working and explorations. In wood working we started sawing wood blocks for our projects we are soon to start. In explorations we played a game where we were led to a tree blindfolded and had to go back to that same tree un-blindfolded. We learned how to identify different trees by how they feel. In main lesson we made simple motors. We made them out of a battery, 2 magnetic wires, a rubber band, copper wire and a magnet.
On Tuesday, we started our lemon battery page and started constructing our simple machine projects. Also we started our self-portraits in art.
On Wednesday, we prepared for our block test by a fun game of jeopardy! Next in handwork we picked out colors of fabric for our puppet plays. In Cyber Civics, we talked about communities and aspects they need to function.
On Thursday we had our physics block test and practice Parcc test. We had to write an essay on electricity and what we read about it. In music we practiced our recorders and learned part of a new song.
On Friday we went on a walk in nature and wrote about all of the awesome things in nature. And to finish we played in the woods. In handwork we started practicing our puppet plays and talked about our play costumes!
