A reminder that our World Language field trip will be this Wednesday Dec. 9. Spanish students should bring their own lunch, and German students have the option to bring their own lunch or bring extra money to purchase lunch at the German market. German students should also bring extra money for purchasing gifts or other items at the market if they’d like to.
If you were lucky enough to make it into the school last week, you saw that the community space of our school this week was transformed this week by our handwork teacher, Mrs. Albert, who brought in an artist-in-residency program – with Three Bags Full Fiber Arts Week. Students throughout the grades got to experience the magic of spinning wool and weaving on looms.

Class Report by Zina:
From the short week before Thanksgiving:
Monday Nov. 23 was one of the last days of our digestive block and we started to draw our digestive system in the human body. We learned Deutsch and Español, and we topped off the day with our explorations. In outdoor ed. we learned the way of the rivers. In woodworking we carved our wood with our creative personalities. We also got the homework of our new food chart recording all of our food eaten over the course of a day.
From last week:
Today is our Monday but in reality it is Tuesday. We learned many facts in main lesson and math. In choir we all got our singing test. Then to top the day off we did blinded portraits of our neighbors then were taught how to draw a face in perspective and had a debate about whether our eyes are really in the middle of our face. This day was filled with fun activities and very educational lessons and were taught by amazingly smart teachers.
On Wednesday we had Mr. Vanhorn come tell us about the cell, and we did a main less page about the different parts of a cell. In handwork we went down to the lobby to look and use the looms and weave a little, and to top off the day we had a discussion about “Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry” and talked about a quote.
On Thursday we learned very much math and then we played jeopardy to help study for our block test on Friday. Then we made sequined music in music. We had a fun short day.
On Friday we had a most interesting main lesson including out test and celebrated our dear friend Franny's 13th birthday and we’ll continue the celebration at her pool birthday party. In math we had another quiz. We learned the beginners of salsa in espanol and in German we talked in German about next week’s field trip, in which both classes are going to Denver but separating to different places.
