Meet the Board Candidates
Each spring we hold elections for new members and/or existing members of our board who would like to serve another term. Our goal is to have every member of the Board of Directors elected by the MSCS community.
Board elections begin May 1st- Learn more about the election process here. This year we have two candidates. Remember, we need at least 30% of the adults to participate in order for the election to be considered valid. Every vote counts. Thank you!

1. What do you value most about Waldorf education?
What I value most about Waldorf education is its commitment to nurturing the whole child—socially, emotionally, and intellectually. In my experience working in STEM, I’ve seen how powerful it is when complex subjects are made accessible through creativity and interdisciplinary learning. The Waldorf approach honors each child’s natural development and cultivates a genuine love of learning, something that more traditional models often miss.
2. What drew you to board service?
I was drawn to board service because of the opportunity to bridge big-picture vision with practical, on-the-ground impact. In my current role as an 8th-grade math interventionist, I work at the intersection of curriculum support and student advocacy, translating institutional goals into meaningful classroom strategies. I’m excited to bring that perspective to the Board to help guide Mountain Sage through its current transition and potential growth while maintaining its strong foundation.
3. What is something unique about yourself you'd like to share?
My professional journey spans a wide range—from delivering intensive literacy interventions in elementary schools to teaching advanced physics and calculus to students around the world. Outside the classroom, I’ve been recognized by organizations like the Colorado Space Grant Consortium and the American Physical Society. Whether I’m organizing large community events, managing complex logistics, or exploring scientific questions, I bring a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and data-driven approach to everything I do.

1. What do you value most about Waldorf education?
My children have attended Waldorf charter schools since pre-K, and what I value most is the whole child model — its foundation in the science of child development and its understanding that increased technology does not inherently lead to better learning outcomes. Waldorf-guided education offers families a meaningful, child-centered alternative, and that distinction is one I hold in high regard.
2. What drew you to board service?
Having served on the board of a nonprofit housing coalition and as part of a Parent Council in California, I have a strong foundation in governance and community investment. I believe a school's strength is directly tied to the people who commit to supporting it, and I look forward to bringing that experience to MSCS during this important period of growth and change.
3. What is something unique about yourself you'd like to share?
Education is a thread woven throughout my family — my great-grandmother taught music for 47 years, and my grandmother served as a teacher, administrator, and professor. I have continued that tradition by teaching Musical Theater to children ages 4–18, and have had the privilege of assisting with three class plays at MSCS. Outside of the classroom, I am an avid gardener and a lifelong theater enthusiast, and I look forward to once again being immersed in an educational community.
